CALL TO ACTION
The Senate has placed HB 248 on the calendar which is now the original House version of HB 79 now. This is the de facto gun registry bill. Under this bill, Georgians will register a gun safe with the government, or have to pay an additional $300 in taxes. It is also a foot in the door for deadly safe storage laws and moves Georgia in the wrong direction. Rather than force Georgians to register their firearms for tax relief, lets pass a bill to eliminate the state income tax.
Last year, when pressed by Senator Greg Dolezal, the measure’s sponsor Mark Newton admitted it would create a list and it would have tracking mechanisms. Watch here:
Call your Senator and tell them to “Do everything you can to KILL HB 248!”
