Immediate Post-Session Wrap Up
You will hear more from me about the 2026 legislative session, with more detail, but in the immediate aftermath I just wanted to give you an update on how it all went.
Your Voice Delivered Results
Before I get into specifics, I want to give a huge THANK YOU to all of you. Without the grassroots, the establishment and their high dollar lobbyists would rule uncontested. But the grassroots takes on the political issues of our state and you all inject the will of the people into the process.
Thank you all!
Stopping Liberal Cities and Anti-2A Ordinances in Their Tracks
We started session off by passing SB 204 to allow people to sue liberal cities into oblivion for anti-2A ordinances. This will prevent cities like Savannah from infringing on your rights and trying to punish you for practicing them.
Killing the Gavin Newsom Censorship Bill (AGAIN)
For the third year in a row, efforts to push a sweeping AI censorship bill were stopped. This proposal, widely criticized as a backdoor attempt to regulate political speech, was stopped. Even when the measure was brought before the House this year, it was so trimmed down to the point that it was not really problematic anymore. The message is clear: Georgia will not become California.
Stopping a Backdoor Gun Registry
A proposal disguised as a mere tax credit for gun safes was once again defeated. In reality, the policy would have created government tracking mechanisms that could even include a list of known gun owners. I am pleased to say this legislation died for the third year in a row. We will not allow RINOs to erode our gun rights.
Shutting Down a Last-Minute Gun Restriction
An attempt to quietly add new criminal penalties on firearm ownership by Frank Ginn was stopped. He was initially proposing to make it illegal to have firearms with a switch. Once the public was alerted, the effort collapsed immediately. Sunlight works and you made it happen.
Forcing Action on Gas Prices
When gas prices surged, the Georgia Freedom Caucus began demanding that the gas tax be suspended. At first, the Georgia Freedom Caucus was the state’s only Republicans pushing for a suspension of the gas tax. Yet five days later, it was signed into law. That is what We The People in action looks like!
Blocking PFAS Liability Protections
Efforts to shield bad actors from accountability over PFAS contamination were stopped. Communities deserve clean water, not legal loopholes for polluters. When someone is hurt, they have a right to justice. So we were proud to fight this effort to give out liability protections.
What didn’t go our way?
Protecting Children from the Trans-Agenda
We have been fighting for a while now to ban puberty blockers for children and reverse Chris Carr’s awful decision to use the state health benefit plan to trans children in other states. Unfortunately, Speaker Jon Burns blocked HB 54, the bill that would have made this happen. Yet we remain vigilant on this issue. We will not stop fighting till this gets done.
Medical Freedom
Legislation allowing you to get ivermectin without a prescription made significant progress and passed the House. It ultimately stalled in the Senate, failing to receive a concurrence vote. This was unfortunate, but we are not done fighting to get this done.
Protecting Ratepayers from Data Center Subsidies
Legislation to prevent ratepayers from subsidizing large data centers did not pass. Our elected officials need to start listening to We The People on this issue, not Georgia Power lobbyists. We will not stop fighting on this issue. Senator Chuck Hufstetler deserves a shoutout on this issue, he did great work trying to get the strongest measure possible through.
Tax Relief Battles Continue
The House passed decent legislation earlier this session to rein in property taxes, though the Democrats had prevented the best of it from passing due to a needed constitutional amendment. The Senate passed great legislation on income taxes. The wrong things being considered prevented truly good relief from passing on either front. Egos, politics, and special interests got in the way. We should have done better.
Election Integrity - Special Session?
Efforts to strengthen election law fell short this session. However, discussions are already underway for a potential special session focused entirely on election integrity. This fight is far from over.
Our state can’t legally use QR codes this November. So the legislature needs to act. It is very soon after session, so we need to see how the talks go. But look out for updates on this. Our fight is not inherently over.
Etc.
There were certainly other good things that happened and other bad things that happened. So stay tuned for further updates!
We look forward to getting to work on our annual legislative scorecards.

General Assembly FAILED, again, to address Fiscal Fraud by The Board of Regents of University System of Georgia known and allowed for over a decade. They ignored the “RESOLUTION Mandating Fiscal Accountability by The Board of Regents of USG” Passed by the GA GOP 7 June 2025. President Trump’s Fiscal Fraud Task Force - created after Minnesota Fiscal Fraud was discovered - has been informed. Prayers Georgia’s top elected Officials, - i.e., Burt “Never Governor” Jones - will be made accountable as Jones DENIED meeting requests with USG Witnesses since Aug. 2024. 🙏🏻🇺🇸
